The Town of Oliver has an opportunity for a motivated enthusiastic individual to fill the position of Director of Operations. The Director oversees the Engineering and Public Works functions, including the safe planning, development, operations, and maintenance of municipal infrastructure.
We are looking to someone to join our Senior Management Team who brings these qualities and abilities to the table:

Ability to budget and maintain financial control over Department operations
•
Management experience including a good working understanding of Collective Agreements
•
Ability to manage a large number of staff

Relevant educational background and experience.
This is an exempt position reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer with a 35-hour work week and offers an excellent benefit package. Given the nature of the position, flexible working hours will occasionally be required. The salary of this position will be commensurate with qualifications.
Preference may be given to candidates with:
•
Post graduate diploma from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering or related field with edibility for membership as an Applied Science Technologist (A.Sc.T.)
•
Education in Public Administration or Business Administration, or certification in Project Management, while those with a combination of similar training and experience will also be considered
•
Level 2 Certification from Environmental Operators Certification Program in Water Distribution and Treatment and Wastewater Collection and Treatment would be an asset
•
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
•
Knowledge in applicable Federal, Provincial, and local laws and regulations pertaining to public works and solid waste functions
•
Knowledge of safe work practices
