Roads Operator

The City of Cold Lake is seeking a qualified individual to fill the permanent position of Roads Operator within the Infrastructure Department.

Reporting to the Roads Foreman, the Operator is required to perform a wide range of activities involved in the repair and/or replacement and maintenance of city streets and properties. Using heavy equipment, the Roads Operator is responsible for road repair and maintenance, including sanding, snow removal, grading, and street sweeping. The position is also responsible for maintaining signage and street lines.

Qualification/Competencies:

• High School diploma or equivalent;
• Preference will be given to applicants with two years’ experience in construction, repair and maintenance of roads, preferably in a municipal or other government setting;  
• Class 3 Operator’s license with Q endorsement;
• Prior experience with heavy equipment will be considered an asset;
• Equipment Operator training, and Standard First Aid and CPR certification is preferred.
