Public Works Manager
This position will be responsible for supervising 15 - 20 municipal employees involved in water distribution, waster water collection, maintenance shop, garbage collection, parks, recreation facilities and road maintenance.
Responsibilities:
Report to and provide advice, support to CAO and Council
Supervise and direct contractors and staff
Maintain public works shop and oversee equipment maintenance and purchasing
Oversee maintenance of all municipal infrastructure
Respond to public inquires and complaints regarding public works issues
Follow and implement the Town’s Health and Safety Policy
Requirements:
Superior Customer Service/Communication Skills with the ability to build strong relationships with both the public and staff.
The ability to stay current with engineering practice and technology specific to road building and maintenance.
Motivation combined with practical and hands on experience
Any relevant certification/education considered an asset
ie:Safety certificate, water ticket, engineering certificate, trade ticket
Competency with Microsoft Office considered an asset
3 – 5 years’ of professional, technical and management excellence in the field of road construction and/or maintenance (private or public sector) with Water and Sewer knowledge.
