PWS Level I introduces the student to public works to leadership, supervision, public works operations safety, asset management and an introduction to finance. Topics covered include leadership skills, personal development, integrity and ethics, motivation and morale, organizational behavior and culture, change management, conflict resolution, general overview of the many functions that make up Public Works, safety and an introduction to financial management including budgeting 101 and price costing. The course is delivered through a series of lectures, in-class exercises, and discussions.
